The Japanese opened with two runs, and a mistake by their short stop enabled the Chinese to draw level. They got the lead by two runs in the next inning and both sides were blanked out until the fifth when Shin got home on a hit and errors followed by T. China and Sling on a two-bagger by S. L. Lee, South China then led by one run and both sides failed to score in the sixth inning.
Excitement was intense when the Japanese in their seventh and what was to have been their last inning were virtually beaten, but Y. Hachitimu got home from third to tie the score amid much ap plause. This was managed by S. Hachiuma who struck out at a high pitched ball which passed the catcher.
